The hand formed symbol has been highly textured then darkened and buffed to add to its dark and rustic look.

The Algiz rune is historically perhaps the most complex of all from a symbological perspective. A unified ideological complex does rise to the surface once its secrets are penetrated.

The Proto-Germanic form algiz means "protection," and its stave form is perhaps derived from the basic sign of defense and
protection: the splayed hand.

The Algiz reversed meaning is one of delays, setbacks and reversal of fortune. Feelings of being under attack and unprotected are also found in the Reversed Algiz. Reversed Algiz is a sign that hidden dangers lie ahead. Ill-health may be about to strike. It may also represent a warning to get a second option before proceeding with anything of importance. It can be also seen as a sign of nihilism.
