The hand formed symbol has been highly textured then darkened and buffed to add to its dark and rustic look.

Petroglyphs are images created by removing part of a rock surface by incising, picking, carving, or abrading, as a form of rock art. Scandinavian Bronze Age and Iron Age people were sophisticated craftsmen and very competent travelers by water. Many of the Scandinavian glyphs depict boats carrying around a dozen passengers. Wagons or carts are also depicted.
